Technical summary
The HC-12 module allows data to be exchanged between two remote devices.
It is equipped with an SI4463 transceiver integrated circuit combined with an STM8 microcontroller.
Communication via Arduino is very simple thanks to the UART signals (RX and TX).
Features:
- Voltage: 3.2V – 5.5V DC
- Power consumption (peak, maximum): < 200mA
- Power consumption (continuous, maximum): < 100mA
- Frequency range: 433.4-473MHz (adjustable over 100 distinct channels)
- Built-in STM8 microcontroller for simplified communication via RX and TX
- Distance (in open air, maximum): 1000m (at 5000bps in open air*), 1800m (at 500bps in open air in mode FU4*)
- Transmission power: up to 100mW (adjustable)
- Receiver sensitivity (maximum): -117dBm (see datasheet)
- Baud rate adjustable from 1200 to 115200 (9600 standard)
- 433MHz antenna included (separate, not soldered)
- Antenna connection possible via the uFL/IPEX connector
- Temperature range: -40°C to +85°C
- Dimensions: 27.4x13.2x2mm
* Only achievable in ideal conditions with directional antennas.
Note: According to the datasheet (page 3), it is recommended to put a 1N4007 diode (or similar) in series with the Vcc pin if the voltage is above 4.5V.
