The Wireless Gecko Series 2 devices from Silicon Labs are the next evolution of the Wireless Gecko devices. They are designed to increase processing capability, improve RF performance and reduce active current, while delivering a higher level of security.

The first products in Silicon Labs' Series 2 portfolio include the EFR32MG21 systems-on-chip (SoC) supporting Zigbee®, Thread and Bluetooth® multiprotocol mesh networks, as well as the EFR32BG21 systems-on-chip dedicated to Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Bluetooth Mesh applications. These systems-on-chip offer ideal solutions for mains-powered IoT products such as gateways, hubs, lighting, voice assistants and smart electricity meters.

• A true random number generator (TRNG) strengthens the device's cryptography
• Secure boot guarantees the authenticity of firmware images and over-the-air updates
• Secure debug access control allows OEMs to prevent unauthorized access to finished products

An 80MHz Arm Cortex-M33 core delivers high processing capability, while a dedicated security core provides faster encryption, secure boot and debug access control.
