Technical summary
The RASPBERRY PI Pico W is a microcontroller board based on the Raspberry Pi RP2040 microcontroller chip with a 2.4GHz wireless interface. A new member of the Pico family, the Pico W keeps the power and flexibility of the previous model but adds wireless connectivity for better integration into IoT applications. Wi-Fi support is enabled through the on-board Infineon CYW43439 chip, housed in a metal enclosure to reduce compliance costs. The Pico has flexible digital interfaces and can easily be programmed over USB using C/C++ or MicroPython, thanks to a complete SDK with software examples and comprehensive documentation.
- RP2040 chipset designed by Raspberry Pi
- Dual-core ARM Cortex M0+ processor up to 133MHz with variable core frequency
- On-board Infineon CYW43439 chip with WPA3 and SoftAP (up to 4 clients)
- Supports 2.4GHz 802.11b/g/n wireless LAN connections
- JST SPHD Series female contact
- 26 multifunction GPIO pins (23 digital only and 3 ADC-capable)
- 2x SPI, 2x I²C, 2x UART, 3x 12-bit ADC and 16 controllable PWM channels
- Pico can be surface-mounted as a module, 3-pin JST-SH debug header
- Accurate on-chip clock and timer, micro USB port for power and data
- Temperature sensor, accelerated floating-point computation libraries
Notes
Note: Initially, Wi-Fi will be supported by MicroPython only, with C/C++ support coming later. Although the CYW43439 chip supports Bluetooth, it will not be supported on the Pico W at launch.
