Technical summary
APDS9960 sensor with I2C interface, which can evaluate the distance and color of an object as well as hand movements (right to left, top to bottom or the reverse, as well as more complex zig-zag, circular gestures, etc.) over a max. distance of 10 cm.
Thanks to its I2C interface (3.3V or 5Vdc compatible) accessible on a 6-pin male connector supplied (to be soldered by you) or on its 2 female 4-pin connectors (Adafruit STEMMA QT and Qwiic SparkFun compatible) for a solderless connection*, this module can easily be connected to an Arduino® or a Raspberry Pi for example, for which you will find examples, source codes and libraries available for download.
* STEMMA QT/Qwiic cables are not supplied
