Technical summary
Liquid crystal displays, otherwise known as LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) modules, are compact intelligent modules and require few external components to work properly. They consume relatively little (1 to 5 mA), are relatively inexpensive and are very easy to use.
Several displays are available on the market and differ from one another, not only in their dimensions (1 to 4 lines of 6 to 80 characters), but also in their technical specifications and their operating voltage. Some have a display backlight. This function uses LEDs mounted behind the module's screen; however, this lighting draws a lot of current (80 to 250 mA).
